Super Bowl LX Prop Bets: Your Guide to Betting Beyond the Game
The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots face off this Sunday, February 8th at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara for Super Bowl LX. Kickoff is at 6:30 PM ET on NBC.
Seattle comes in as 4.5-point favorites, with the total set at 45.5 points. But if you're only betting the spread or total, you're missing half the fun of Super Bowl Sunday.
From the color of Gatorade dumped on the winning coach to Bad Bunny's halftime performance, here's everything you need to know about the prop bets that make the Super Bowl the biggest betting day of the year.
Super Bowl MVP
There are two ways to play the MVP market. You can bet on a specific player, or you can bet on which position wins it.
Quarterbacks dominate this award - 34 of the last 59 Super Bowl MVPs have been QBs. But other positions do win from time to time. Defensive ends Harvey Martin and Richard Dent both won it, along with cornerback Larry Brown.
Current MVP Odds (via Flush.com):
Sam Darnold: +110 (2.10)
Drake Maye: +220 (3.20)
Jaxon Smith-Njigba: +700 (8.00)
Kenneth Walker III: +850 (9.50)
If you want a longshot, Defensive Lineman to win MVP is sitting at +4100 (41.00). With both teams playing elite defense and a low total of 45.5, this could turn into the type of defensive battle where someone like Leonard Williams or Matthew Judon takes over.
Color of Gatorade Poured on Winning Head Coach
This started back in 1984 when Giants players dumped Gatorade on Bill Parcells during the regular season. A few years later in Super Bowl XXI when they beat the Broncos, it happened again. Through the 2000s it became tradition.
Here's how often each color has been used since 2001:
🟠 Orange: 5 times
🔵 Blue: 4 times
⬜ Clear/Water: 4 times
🟣 Purple: 4 times
🟡 Yellow/Green: 4 times
🚫 None: 4 times (no Gatorade bath at all)
🔴 Red/Pink: 0 times
Orange is the most common, though teams have skipped the tradition entirely four times since 2001.
Current Gatorade Color Odds (via Flush.com):
Blue: 3.00
Yellow/Lime/Green: 3.20
Orange: 3.25
Purple: 7.50
Red/Pink: 10.00
Clear: 11.00
Blue is favored this year even though orange has been most common historically. Both teams have blue as a primary color, which probably explains why oddsmakers like it.
Bad Bunny Halftime Show
Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny is performing at halftime. Since he sings in Spanish and many casual viewers won't know his songs, there could be value here if you're familiar with his catalog.
You can bet on the first song performed, last song performed, who makes a guest appearance, total number of songs, and whether he performs an unreleased track.
First Song Performed Odds (via Flush.com):
BAILE INOLVIDABLE: +430 (3.30)
ALAMBRE PÚA: +430 (3.30)
La MUDANZA: +470 (3.70)
MONACO: +500 (4.00)
Titi Me Preguntó: +520 (4.20)
NUEVAYOL: +530 (4.30)
DÁKITI: +650 (5.50)
Me Porto Bonito: +850 (7.50)
DÁKITI is his biggest crossover hit in the U.S. and the song most non-Spanish speakers will recognize. Halftime shows usually open with the artist's most popular song to grab casual viewers.
Coin Toss
One of the simplest props, but people love betting it because it settles before the game even starts.
Coin Toss Odds:
Heads: -105
Tails: -105
Fun fact: The last six Super Bowls have alternated perfectly - Tails, Heads, Tails, Heads, Tails, Heads. If the pattern continues, tails is due.
You can also bet on:
- Which team wins the toss
- Whether the winning team defers or receives
- What the losing team chooses (if they lose the toss)
First Touchdown Scorer
This is one of the most popular props because it settles fast and gives you instant action.
Kenneth Walker III is the favorite around +400 since he's Seattle's primary red zone back. With backup Zach Charbonnet out for the season with a torn ACL, Walker will handle even more of the load.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is around +600. He led the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards this season and is Sam Darnold's favorite target.
On the Patriots side, Rhamondre Stevenson (+1000) and Hunter Henry (+1200) are the main red zone threats for Drake Maye.
The favorite rarely actually scores first - in the last 10 Super Bowls, it's only happened three times. Look for value in the +800 to +1400 range if you want a bigger payout.
Game Props
Will there be a safety?
No: -1400 | Yes: +800
Only 9 safeties in 59 Super Bowls. The last one was in 2014 when the Seahawks played the Broncos - ironically, it happened on the very first play of the game when the snap went over Peyton Manning's head.
Will the game go to overtime?
No: -2000 | Yes: +1000
Only happened twice in Super Bowl history. First time was Patriots-Falcons when Atlanta blew a 28-3 lead. But three of the last four Super Bowls were decided by exactly 3 points, so close games are definitely a trend.
Will there be a successful 2-point conversion?
Yes: -110 | No: -110
Last year's Super Bowl had two successful 2-point conversions. Coaches are getting more aggressive with analytics, so this isn't as rare as it used to be.
The Octopus
No: -6000 | Yes: +1600
This is when the same player scores a touchdown and then runs in the 2-point conversion - 8 points total from one player. Only happened once in Super Bowl history when Jalen Hurts did it in Super Bowl LVII.
Player Props
Of course there are tons of the normal prop bets - over/under on passing yards, rushing yards, receptions, touchdowns. At Flush there are over 110 prop bets available to stack with the Bet Builder and create same-game parlays.
Popular Player Props:
Drake Maye passing yards O/U 220.5
Sam Darnold passing yards O/U 245.5
Kenneth Walker III rushing yards O/U 82.5
Jaxon Smith-Njigba receptions O/U 6.5
Walker's rushing prop is interesting. He's gone over 82.5 yards in 10 of his last 12 games as the lead back. With Charbonnet out, Seattle will lean on the run game to control the clock.
Same Game Parlays
With over 110 props available in the Bet Builder, you can get creative with parlays:
Conservative approach:
Seahawks -4.5 + Under 45.5 + Kenneth Walker Over 82.5 rushing yards
If Seattle wins by controlling the ground game, all three hit.
Upset scenario:
Patriots ML + Drake Maye Over 220.5 passing + Drake Maye Anytime TD + Under 45.5
If the Pats pull the upset, Maye probably had a big game through the air and with his legs.

Who Wins?
Right now the overwhelming number of bets are on the Seahawks. They have the #1 scoring defense in the NFL, allowing just 17.2 points per game. Sam Darnold has had a career resurgence, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba gives them a legitimate #1 receiver.
But the Patriots aren't here by accident. Drake Maye has been excellent in his second season, and Mike Vrabel has completely turned this franchise around - they went from 4-13 last year to the Super Bowl.
When gametime comes Sunday, we'll see who gets it done and which coach gets the Gatorade bath.
